Another of my favorite tunes

I am not doing much blogging, I don't find it easy to chatter on about nothing. I will however post when I have knitting or crochet to show.

Rememberance Day in Australia

Well, what can I say.... I am totally disgusted with the behaviour of some ?Australians? here. Here we REMEMBER our fallen soldiers from all wars, at the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month of each and every year with one minutes silence no matter where you are or what you are doing. As it happened I was in a KMart store in Werribee Victoria, when it was announced over the loud speaker that it was eleven o'clock and would all customers please observe the minutes silence. I cannot believe that out of all the customers in my line of sight (probably about thirty) only five including myself stopped to remember our fallen. If it were not for those men and women this country would not be worth emigrating to now!!!

Okay it is obvious I am furious and insulted, quite a few of my forebears lost their lives in one or other of the wars! So my message to anyone reading this post who did not observe the one minutes silence yesterday I have this to say.............IF YOU DON'T WANT TO ASSIMILATE, LEAVE!!!!

Todays little adventures

Today I felt a little better so I decided to do a couple of things I had been thinking about for a while.

Firstly, I crocheted a couple of hot pads to have on hand as small gifts should I be caught out. They are completed but not sewn up, when I do that I will add a couple of photos.

I have a lot of trouble holding the fine crochet hooks because of Arthritis in my thumb joints. Yet I have no trouble with the larger sizes say 4mm and up. Having spent some time thinking about that I wondered if by felting some wool onto the hook would, 1. would it stay there 2. make it any easier to grip them. Only one way to find out, so today I did 6 of my hooks and am waiting for them to dry. It will be an interesting outcome either way, I will update this post tomorrow with photos and whether it is a success for my hands or not.

I am really not very well at present, I have been sick for about a week now and it looks like it will take a while yet to get over this latest bout of flu/wog/lurgy or whatever it is. Doctor visit today loaded me up with quite a stack of medicine so lets hope it works quickly.

So with the miseries I have been tramping down memory lane and I just have to include this song here.

Long Tail cast on

Boy have I had trouble trying to do this long tail cast on, yet after watching this video it is so simple.
